Keno Game Rules

Keno is a low odds, high popularity casino game. The best part about the fun of keno is that it is extremely simple.

To begin playing keno you pick a set of numbers on a square ticket. The ticket is usually about 5-inch square with eighty numbers printed on it. Classically the numbers are divided into two sets: The top and the bottom. Using a marker or crayon you need to mark five numbers with circles or squares. Now on top of the ticket, mark your wager amount and the total number of numbers you have picked.

Once every player tenders his or her ticket, the wining numbers are called out through a randomization. If your numbers have won, you get a prize in accordance with the number of hits. The key thing to remember here is to collect your prize before the next game begins, or else you forfeit it. So, you must be attentive at all times.

You can either place multiple bets, or bet the same numbers for a series of games in keno. The latter style of betting is called multi-race betting. Another betting option available in keno is the very popular Straight Up. In some kinds of Straight Up tickets you can pick six numbers. If the birdcage machine calls out more than three of the six numbers, you win. Usually these machines draw twenty numbers in one game and all you need to get is three of these. Better still, if you are lucky enough to draw all six numbers, you win the jackpot of a few thousand.

Keno needs attentiveness, but you could be a complete novice and do really well. There are only a few rules every player must know, and none of these require any major strategy. The downside is that there is little game-play strategy you can apply. It is largely up to pure chance, and if you tend to rely on casino systems you may not fair too well at keno.
